Welcome to my website!
I started my blog in the summer of 2015 when I studied abroad in Perú. Writing and creating videos about my experiences helped me document and share what turned out to be a life-changing summer for me.
The blog started again one year later, just a few months after my dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Writing became a way for me to cope with the unimaginable. There’s a sort of therapy and understanding and process that makes writing so beautiful and mysterious and helpful to the aching heart.
I’m a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I study journalism, Spanish, and religious studies. I love AP style, but I love a good, hard-hitting story even more. After a Spanish class, I’m thinking in that language for most of the day. And when I read a book by someone like Catherine Keller, my head is swimming with questions and philosophical thoughts that make me inquisitive of everything I thought I knew.
Now you know a little bit about me. While you’re here, be sure to check out my portfolio to see what kind of work I do when I’m on the clock. (Hint: It’s a whole lot of writing.)
I love to learn. And I love to teach. I hope that by writing this blog, I can do a little of both.
Thanks for stopping by.
